Fillers

For some of us, it’s not the wrinkles that make us look older than we might feel, but rather the lack of volume that comes as we age and naturally lose our collagen. The areas under our eyes, or around our cheeks and lips might look less plump and slightly hollow as we age. Injectable fillers can address all these issues, reversing the signs of aging and restoring a more youthful appearance.

All About Dermal Fillers

As we age, we naturally lose volume in our cheeks, around our lips, and in the lower half of our face. Gravity and age also combine to make our skin less taut, stretching it in a way that makes the resulting hollowness even more apparent. Once you take into account sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle, lack of volume can be a major problem for people who wish to retain a more youthful look.

Dermal fillers not only help to restore volume and fullness to the face, but they can be used to diminish unwanted lines, as well. Fillers can enhance the cheeks and shallow contours, soften wrinkles and creases, and improve the appearance of recessed scars like acne scarring.

Fillers are most often used to:

  • Build the cheeks
  • Fill lost volume and lift the lower face
  • Plump the lips
  • Fill the hollows under the eyes (tear troughs)
  • Restore lost volume to hands to improve their appearance and reduce the appearance of tendons and blood vessels

We are proud to offer a wide assortment of dermal fillers, because no two faces require the same treatment plan. With different fillers to choose from, we can create the most aesthetic results and help you reach your ultimate goals.

Hyaluronic Acid Based Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance used by the body to plump the skin and keep it youthful. Aging brings many changes, including a decrease in HA and collagen production, but hyaluronic acid based cosmetic injectables use a synthetic version of HA that closely matches the body’s own HA to restore volume below the skin. Your body will process the hyaluronic acid filler over time, however, so results are not permanent.

One benefit of hyaluronic acid based fillers is that they can be broken down with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This is rarely needed, but it is important (and comforting) to know that HA fillers are reversible if a problem arises. With other, non-HA fillers, there is no option to reverse if a problem arises.

Collagen Stimulating Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is an effective ingredient used in many different injectables, but it’s not the only effective ingredient. Other injectables can restore volume and they use alternative ingredients to restore youth, correct volume loss, and even increase collagen production within your body. At our office, we carry both Radiesse and Bellafill.
