CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Our CO2 laser - the Bella Donna laser - excels at tightening and resurfacing the skin, and has become the gold standard not only in the treatment of wrinkles and loss of skin tone on and around the face related to sun exposure and UV damage, but also for crow's feet and smoker's lines. It is also what we use for our Laser Eye Lift treatment, for vaginal rejuvenation, and we can even use it to get rid of skin tags or other benign lesions. Multi-tasking laser? You bet!
Our CO2 laser is a non-ablative fractional laser. It uses energy microbeams to create areas of affected tissue that extend through the epidermis into the dermis, breaking down facial lines, creases, acne scars, surgical scars, and skin imperfections. After treatment, the body’s natural healing process generates new skin that’s healthier, smoother, and more youthful in appearance. Best of all, this unique laser treatment lets you look like you, only better. Your best you, with fewer lines and imperfections and without unnatural facial changes.
Healthy patients with realistic expectations who are interested in skin rejuvenation or the treatment of surgical or acne scars are excellent candidates for fractional CO2 laser resurfacing. Patients with active inflammatory skin conditions may require treatment of these conditions before lasering, and those with very dark skin are not good candidates because of a risk of changing the skin’s native color. This laser has multiple settings from virtually no pain to aggressive treatments that require some downtime. We can and will tailor a treatment plan to fit your needs, from a lunchtime weekly program to a one time agressive skin resurfacing.
No special preparation is necessary prior to treatment, with the exception of removing any jewelry or body piercings in the area(s) to be treated.
The magic number seems to be anywhere between 1 and 3 treatments. We will discuss this during your consultation, and make recommendations based on your skin and your needs.
This will depend entirely on what we're treating and how gentle or intense our settings are. That being said, we will discuss everything ahead of time, and you will go home with detailed instructions on what to expect and aftercare recommendations.
Clients who cannot be treated include those who have cardiac pacemakers, internal defibrillators, tumors and metallic implants (including joint replacements) in the target area. Additionally, clients who are pregnant may not undergo this procedure.
